David Walker is an artist from London, UK who paints portraits of unknown and inspiring women, using only spray paints. His unique style that stands imprinted on walls across the streets of London has been noticed internationally, inviting the artist to showcase his art in galleries across the world.
The artist’s rich and multi-colored works give out a sense of beauty in defiance. “I think the classic use of portraiture made with ultra modern materials is an interesting contrast. I want to capture beauty in the paintings and hopefully they ask a question about what graffiti/urban art looks like and what can be done with the medium. I feel lucky to be part of a scene that’s still finding its feet and engaging and annoying a lot of people. The art world in general is always evolving and I believe now is an exciting time to be making work,” the budding artist tells us.
Jenny Saville, Chuck Close, Adam Neate, and Jean Dubuffett are some artists that inspire David. A collection of the David’s artworks can be seen below.
