Printer-friendly version

Lauri Blank is an artist from Chicago, Illinois who was destined to be a creative soul with her burning passion for art since childhood. The artist’s wonderful talent starting receiving appreciation right from Lauri's childhood. At the age of 12, Lauri was honored by The Norton Museum of Art that included her three-dimensional painting of a young woman aging slowly in their prestigious national exhibition. Continuing on her path of creative exploration and accomplishments, Lauri was commissioned to paint the ceiling of an 18th century church in Old Montreal – before long Lauri was called "The Ft. Lauderdale area's own Michelangelo".

Laurie's work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the nation. She receives frequent media attention and has appeared on numerous magazine covers throughout the Miami area. In 2002, Lauri was chosen by the Grammy’s to paint their official image for that year, which graced all the Grammy invitations, program books, media advertising and souvenirs.

Laurie’s paintings are romantic, beautiful, and powerful - images that are drenched in color, wind swept flowing hair and the abundance of harmonic movement. “Art is a personal love affair, you never know why you really love someone, or why you gravitate motifs and want to spend all your time with just them, that is how I see my work - I don’t know why - I just paint, and love it! I have tried to capture what beautiful music looks like in human form”, the acclaimed artist tells us. A collection of Lauri’s marvelous paintings can be viewed below.
