Ben Heine is an illustrator and photographer from Brussels, Belgium. The artist has studied painting and sculpture, and is self-taught in the discipline of drawing, which is the style of expression Ben chooses to express himself most through.
Love, happiness, friendship, nature, and illusion, are some motifs that can be observed in Ben’s art. The artist’s most notable work is his Pencil vs Camera series, a project that combines pencil illustrations and photographs to portray different things within the same scene.
The artist creates a breathtaking landscape for his viewers by fusing the real with fantasy. His extraordinary precision in juxtaposing various elements within his photographs makes this project truly unique and inspiring. “Life is too short. I really think art should make people dream. This is my first goal, especially in Pencil vs Camera,” the talented artist tells us.
Panamarenko, Damien Hirst, Banksy, and Gilad Benari are some of the present-day artists that inspire Ben. A collection of images, from his Pencil vs Camera Series can be seen below.
