Canadian artist Mandy Tsung was born in Banff, Alberta in 1984. She attended the Alberta College of Art and Design and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006. Her paintings center around ravishing, pop-culture inspired female subjects, and are generally composed on wooden panels.
“The process of painting is very inspiring for me as is the complexity of the human face and how it portrays emotion. I try to let my chosen medium, such as wood, canvas, or acrylic paint, guide much of the world that is created within my paintings, building organically moment to moment. For the end result, I am hoping to create something striking, emotionally resonant, and beautiful,” the artist tells us.
James Jean, Sam Weber, Mars 1, Oliver Vernon, and Greg Simkins are some artists that inspire Mandy. Her work has been exhibited in collections across Vancouver, Calgary, USA, and Hong Kong. A collection of Maggie’s stunning artwork can be seen below.
