Darwin Wigget is a travel photographer from Canada practicing photography since 1991. Darwin who had no formal training in photography took it up as a hobby in 1986 and his photos soon started selling in 1991. Darwin's greatest influence in photography has been Freeman Patterson but the renowned Canadian photographer believes in being true to one’s own voice and shooting the things that matter most to him.
“I only photograph things I love, and things that make me laugh. I love nature and landscape photography and spend most of my shooting time in the great outdoors. I also love dogs and photograph them a lot. I want to show the world the joy I feel when I photograph the things I love.”
Darwin has written and published many books about photography but considers his book How to Photograph the Canadian Rockies his best effort to date – a book that convinces people that photography is more about being in the right place at the right time than it is about skill and equipment. Darwin has won numerous international photo contests with the most prestigious being 2008 Travel Photographer of the Year (TPTOY). A collection of Darwin's bright and wonderful photography can be viewed below:
Darwin's current photographic pack: Canon EOS 1ds Mark III and the EOS 450D with a variety of lenses.
